Welcome to the West London Alliance

The West London Alliance (WLA) is a partnership of six West London councils - Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow.

These councils serve a population of 1.8 million people and have a joint annual expenditure of £3.8bn a year. There are over 77,000 VAT registered business and nearly 700,000 employees active in this West London area.

The WLA aims to: promote the interests of West London residents and businesses; improve and develop public services; and to reduce their costs through collaboration. In addition to representing the interests of West London in terms of economic development, transport and spatial planning policy, the WLA facilitates a number of major improvement and efficiency programmes.

The WLA is also a founder member of the West London Partnership (WLP) which brings together the public, private and voluntary sectors in West London to promote the economic, social and environmental interests of West London businesses and residents.

This website provides an information resource about the WLA and West London for stakeholders, partners and interested West London residents and businesses.

Improving the way we contract for Training Services across the WLA and other boroughs
The way that Training services have traditionally been procured by our boroughs has we believe been less than optimum - in terms of ease of access, diversity of choice, appropriate selection of trainers and pricing efficiencies. In general terms, all of the boroughs individually procure the same training services, either centrally or in a devolved way, from a wide range of providers. To date there has been little attempt to improve value for money across the WLA family by recognising the cumulative spending power we have in this category.
