Providing services to over 1.4m residents, within the London boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow the West London Alliance boroughs spend well over £300m a year on adult social care services.

The leaders and chief executives of the WLA boroughs have decided on a collaborative programme aimed at reducing costs and improving adult social care services. The focus of the programme is on the £300+m of externally purchased services and a WLA efficiencies unit has been established to work with lead commissioning and procurement professionals in each borough. An ambitious programme of 20 individual projects has been created which includes residential and domiciliary care commissioning and procurement and the development of self directed support.

The WLA is looking for a senior category manager to help develop the collaborative efficiency programme. Is that you?

Operating within a private or public sector procurement environment, you will have detailed knowledge and experience of procurement strategy, processes and supplier management as well as a sound understanding of the challenges facing the public sector
