This Transport Conference aims to give a wide range of people and organisations in West London the chance to debate and take forward the transport agenda for the area. The Conference Chairman will be Christian Wolmar, transport writer and broadcaster, formerly transport correspondent of the Independent newspaper.
The Conference will provide four perspectives on the current issues and problems of transport in West London. The keynote speaker is Professor Sir Peter Hall, Britain’s foremost town planner, a West London resident with strong professional interests in transport and its integration with land use and development. Further perspectives are to be provided by Cllr. Jason Stacey, Leader of Ealing Council and Chair of the West London Alliance; George Benham, Chairman of Park Royal Partnership’s Transport Management Association and their “On the Move” transport programme; and Keith Buchan who is an independent professional transport planner, a resident of West London and who has a special interest in improving local access arrangements.
Following these perspectives, delegates will have an opportunity through a workshop session to input their views on West London’s transport issues and potential solutions.
